This Friday night is the Old Town Stroll. A holiday favorite with the lighting of the Christmas Tree on December 4th, 2009 at 6 pm. There will be Carolers and discounts abound in many Old Town shops. Live musical entertainment including church choirs will be in various locations around Old Town. Our daughters dance choir will also be performing this Friday during the Stroll.

Kids can get their picture taken with Santa at the Old Town Plaza Gazebo from 10 am – 4 pm Saturdays and Sundays in December.

Old Town Albuquerque… one more thing to love about New Mexcio!

Albuquerque Nob Hill Shop & Stroll

We went to the Nob Hill stroll last year… it was a bit chilly and cold… but had a great time walking the street and enjoying the season. This year, it’s December 3rd from 6 – 9 pm. Central Avenue is closed to traffic and vendors set up food booths and last year there were jugglers and other performers too.

Nob Hill is by the University of New Mexico and has great shops and restaurants. It’s a happening place to be. One of the many reasons people living near Nob Hill love it.

Albuquerque on Thanksgiving Eve

In driving around Albuquerque today, it sure feels like the holiday season is upon us. I went to Sunflower Market along with the rest of Albuquerque… and found a warm cheery well stocked store. Fresh Turkeys were still in stock and waiting for me… since our plans for chowder have turned in to turkey at the extended families request.

I then went to Cost Plus World Market for a few holiday items and they were stocked for Christmas and Hanukkah. It felt like Black Friday already as the store was hopping and the registers had long lines to check out. My son and I found a few special items and enjoyed our time together.

Jane is going to show houses at 4:00 — I know, the hardest working member of the team out on Thanksgiving eve showing homes.

All the best to everyone.

Corrales Christmas de Caballos Parade is today!

On Sunday afternoon, November 22, CHAMP is sponsoring the annual Christmas de Caballos Parade in Corrales, New Mexico. Last year’s Parade had close
to 100 riders making it the largest equine-only parade in New Mexico (it’s believed anyway!). The Parade is in conjunction with the United States Marine Corps’ annual Toys for Tots Drive and participants and spectators are urged to bring toys to donate.

It’s a beautiful sunny warm day… grab a toy or three, and come out to Corrales for the parade! One more of the great reasons why we love Corrales and the Albuquerque area!

Hewlett Packard facility in Rio Rancho New Mexico to open!

Today’s Albuquerque Journal, Rio Rancho edition, announced there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the new Hewlett Packard building in Rio Rancho. Congrats! They are way ahead of schedule.

We’ve helped several Hewlett Packard employees with their relocation to New Mexico, and Rio Rancho. Those relocating have bought homes in Albuquerque as well as Rio Rancho, with Pulte’s Loma Colorado neighborhood and Northern Meadows being favorites.

If you are relocating to New Mexico, please give us a call. We know the areas well for both new homes and resale homes.

Rio Rancho economic development continues

Every day I open up The Albuquerque Journal, westside edition, and see good news about Rio Rancho. Today, there were plenty of good things to read about.

Business Week named Rio Rancho, New Mexico, as one of the best Cities in the Country to raise kids! Wow, isn’t that great! We have worked with many home buyers who request Rio Rancho. They support this story! When doing relocation research, families learn that Rio Rancho has great schools, low crime, and affordable housing.

Buying or selling a home? We can help you. We’re top realtors in New Mexico – the Albuquerque Metropolitan area – including Rio Rancho, Tijeras, Sandia Park, Los Lunas, Belen, the Westside, Corrales, and points between.

Looking forward to helping you with your housing needs. Tracy

Best Places to Raise Your Kids: 2010: Best Place to Raise Your Kids: New Mexico – BusinessWeek

Rio Rancho is so honored to make BusinessWeeks top list of places to raise your kids in New Mexico. With the opening of its new state of the art Cleveland High School to coincide with Rio Rancho High and the moderate priced housing, it’s no wonder. The advancement of construction at the New City Center is also helping to stimulate economic development. HP should be opening December 2nd and the CNM and UNM campuses are under construction as well. On the activity side, Rio Rancho has recently added an indoor swimming facility, has numerous soccer fields used for YAFL & soccer, little league baseball & softball fields with a new little league facility under construction in North Rio Rancho, youth hockey leagues, youth bowling leagues and numerous parks with walking trails. Rio Rancho also has an excellent Parks, Recreation & Community Services division. New schools, new continuing education facilities, and many youth activity opportunities definitely make Rio Rancho an excellent place to raise your kids.
